How to know when the cartridges are burned or broken

Look here how to know when your ink cartridges are damaged and it is necessary to change by others.

Ink cartridges are really sensible and complex, many pages can be printed with just 4 ml of ink that is the usual measure of ink that cartridges bring and is daily used, if you try to mark all that a 4 ml ink cartridge can do you will not mark more that about five pages.

Due to, as said before, the printing process of the cartridges is really complex and thus they are too vulnerable to get damage if not taking care of them, the main part is to take care of the connectors of the cartridges, you cannot directly look after them, there are procedures to do so.
When the cartridges are burned or broken they lead the printers to flash or to indicate that the ink cartridges are not compatible or that the printer does not recognize the cartridges.

Now there is a period of time in which the cartridges are broken but still working, this is the time when the pages are not being printed with the same quality than before or just with physical errors that do not allow you to get the quality you want.

When the pages are blurred:
When this happens it is not necessary to say that the cartridge is broken, there is the possibility that is just clogged, or not giving the needed ink through the injectors.

It is normal when the sponge of the cartridge gets saturated or when the cartridge already has problems in its connectors. The fastest solution is to unclog the cartridges, but not the only solution.

When the printing in the pages is blurred there is the possibility that the head is not heating the cartridges, this can be due to problems with electricity you must check if the power supply source has problems and in case it does you will have to replace it.

When the pages are getting printed with a repeating stripe across the page:

This means that there are connectors in the cartridge that are burned, not all the connectors but some for sure, there is also the possibility that the head of the cartridge is being clogged for something in particular that is why it is recommended to take out the ink with an extractor, maybe you do not have an extractor at home but a the person who works refilling cartridges will have it.

When the cartridge is placed and the printer does not recognize it:

Has said before there is a solution for this, it is recommended to perform a cleaning of the connectors, to do so it is advised to use a fabric or a napkin to clean both the connector of the cartridge and the connectors of the printer.

If after cleaning the ink from the head of the printer and the cartridge the error is still there it is possible the connector of the cartridge is damaged.

How to take care of the connectors of the cartridge:

• The connectors of the cartridge are cared when you do no let the cartridges to completely run out of ink
• Partially printing a big amount of pages.
• If you see that the cartridge has ink and it is not printing stop the printing and try to open the ink cartridge, the printer heats and if it has not ink or the ink is not coming out it get heated and burned
• To print a page at least once a week is recommended
• Turn off the printer when you finish printing to avoid that a voltage spike damages the connectors of the cartridge.

If you use a continuous ink system the cartridge has many more chances of getting damaged or of printing wrong, for example if the ink system is saturating the cartridge at the moment of printing the pages can come out with the repetitive stripe we talked about before, this is due to the fact that the ink comes out the cartridge by injection and if the cartridge has ink in its head the injection will not come out completely.

It is recommended to remove the continuous ink system and let the cartridge to rest for about 1 or 2 minutes until all the remaining ink comes out of it.

Also with the continuous ink systems the cartridges tend to run out of ink and this mostly does that the cartridges get damaged, when the cartridge stops getting ink its head stills heats but does not get enough ink to cool down causing immediate damages in the heads of the cartridges, you have to remove the cartridge and bleed as shown in point number eleven on how to install a continuous ink system.
