How to know to what USB port the printer is plugged to
In very few cases it is really known where the printer is connected through the USB cable since computers have many USB ports and those are not identified with a number neither in the front or back side of the PC.
It is necessary that the user identify the USB port the printer is plugged to through the computer. To do so, go to Printers, if using Windows XP click on Start and then go to Printers and Faxes, if using Windows 7 click on Start and then on Devices and Printers and the printers plugged will be shown.
When the printer is found right click on it and click on the Properties option (the last option in the menu displayed) when using Windows XP or go to Printer Properties (about the seventh option) when using Windows 7. After going to properties click on Ports and black shaded the port assigned to the printer will be shown.
