This post will teach you how to refill the HP 96 back ink cartridge.
The HP 96 black ink cartridge is a pigment-based ink cartridge, it yields up to 860 pages when it is brand new and contains approximately 20 ml of ink. When refilled with pigmented-based ink you get up to 600 pages.
A big syringe is recommended to refill this cartridge and you must supply the whole quantity of ink in one step. You must apply the ink as slow as possible as we always mention in our blog, the slower the ink is injected give you more chances for the inner sponges to absorb the ink. If you need any help, please contact us by leaving a comment in the section below this post.
Step No. 1
Please place the ink cartridge into a flat surface where you can easily refill the cartridge, you might want to cover the surface with an old piece of material to protect it from an ink spill.
Step No. 2
Now carefully remove the sticky label from the ink cartridge, the one with the number and the color of the cartridge. We recommend removing the label to allow the air to enter the cartridge and give a better quality print. You must keep the sticky label because at the end of the process you will stick it back to the cartridge.
Step No. 3
Refill the syringe with 5ml of ink and slowly inject it into the cartridge. You must do it very slowly to allow the inner sponges to soak all the ink.
Printing a test sheet will help you check if everything is working good with the refilling ink cartridge. However, sometimes even if you have correctly followed the steps you might still not get the result expected. If this is your case, please follow the instruction below:
