This post will teach you how to connect your HP 4500 printer to a wireless network and have it print via wifi.
In this post, we will show you how to connect the HP 4500 printer to the wifi and print to a wireless network. Connecting a printer to a wifi will allow you to be more flexible in your work, no more hassle with the different cables and trying to connect the computer to the printer.
The HP 4500 printer is the latest HP model sold in Latin American, and this printer is known for it high yield page. The Latin America version of this printer differs from the one sold in the US, in Latin America the top of the printer is designed differently.
In order to connect your printer to a wireless or wifi network, you will need a fully functional router.
You will also need to know the router’s password if it has one to continue with the installation and configuration process. It will also come in handy when installing the printer drivers on your operating system. Step #1:
First, locate and click on the tool button on your printer’s main panel. Check the picture below to see how the sign looks.
Step #2:
Browse the entire menu displayed on your printer’s screen, and select the networks option.
Step #3:
Now select the wireless configuration option.
Step #4:
Look around the new menu and select the wireless search option.
Step #5:
The printer will take a bit of time searching for all the available wifi networks in range. Please check if your router is working properly and if it's not, configure it so it’s fully functional during this process.
Step #6:
Once the network of your choice appears on screen, select it and connect the printer to it.
Step #7:
Remember you will also need to type your network’s password on your printer to get it properly connected to it.
Step #8:
Once your printer is connected to your router an vice-versa, please install your printer’s drivers on the computer. If you don’t have the original installation CD, read this post to learn an alternative installation method.
Step #9:
During the driver installation process, please select the wireless or wifi configuration. This particular method is an alternative to the traditional one of attaching the USB cable to your printer.
Step #10:
The printer must now be available for use on your wifi network. Keep in mind your computer should also be connected to the same network, or it won’t recognize this printer.
