Below we will present a list of the most common error codes on the Canon Pixma printer, we have been using this particular brand in our printer shop for a while now, therefore, we have experienced some of these error code. We will list as many as we can, and give you partial solution to eliminate these error. List of most common error codes found on Canon Pixma printers:
E35 E15: Short circuits in your USB cable. Please connect your printer to another USB port.
E37 17: printer engine error. The engine inside the ink cartridge carriage is out of order.
E40 20: A hardware error has occurred. This may have to do with the configurations set on the certain internal components.
E42 22: Scanner error. These can be a bit more complicated considering that they are caused by sudden hard move inside your printer.
E28: The ink cartridges’ temperatures are rising. We suggest turning your printer off for a few hours and disconnect the power cable as well.
E23: An error in the paper feeding process /the canon printer lacks paper. Check for the number of pages in the printer’s paper tray and take a look at the paper sensor on it.
E22: Ink cartridge carriage error. Please check for any foreign objects blocking the way of the carriage. If there aren’t any, please grease the carriage up with 3-in-1 oil.
E15: There is an ink cartridge missing. If every ink cartridges have been set in place, please clean their contacts.
E14: The ink cartridges have not been installed properly. Remove the cartridges from the printer and place them back inside in the correct position. If the problem persists, please read our post regarding proper Canon ink cartridge placement.
E5-5: The ink cartridges installed on the printer are not compatible with this particular model. If you have installed the right type of ink cartridges, please clean the contacts on them to solve this issue.
E4: You have run out of ink. If you have refilled your ink cartridges and this error appears, please read the post about how to restore a Canon printer back to factory settings.
