Learn how to deep-clean the printhead on the Epson printers by following these brief, six-steps tutorial below.
This post will demonstrate you how to deep clean Epson Printhead, we did not mention any particular printer model because this tutorial will englobe a large majority of Epson printers at the same time.
Most Epson printers seem to have the same printhead cleaning system which is effective on their own. However, some system consumes much more ink than other such as the Epson L200 model.
The method we are about to explain uses a bit more ink than the automatic cleaning process because it takes the ink and pumps it through the printhead, just as it would when printing a document. This is why this procedure is so helpful.
However, it is not easy to access the Epson printhead and clean it as is it when cleaning an ink cartridge.
We already know the problem now let find the solution, keep in mind that we are doing this process using an Epson L200 printer model. Before cleaning the printhead on this Epson printer it has a deficient print quality and was leaving out letters when documents were printed.
You must first locate the printer with the printhead needed a deep cleaning. We will work with the Epson L200 printer model, but you can follow the same steps for your particular Epson printer.
So far, Epson has not changed this deep-clean procedure so we can count on it for a while. Now you can click on Printing Preferences.
Step #2: Browse through entire Printing Preferences window
The image below will be what you see on your screen after clicking on Printing Preferences; the options displayed will depend on the what printer model you are using.
Please ignore all settings not available on your printer and just follow the steps we are describing in order to clean the printhead on your own device.
Step #3: Click on the Maintenance option
Click on the option called Maintenance, or the proper translation depending on what language is your printer. We recommend installing your printer drivers in the language you speak fluently.
Step #4: Confirm the deep-clean process on your Epson printer
Please clean the ink injectors before starting with this deep-clean process, after its done you can execute the cleaning procedure on your printhead by clicking on this option and waiting for the system to ask for your confirmation. It will also issue the warning we told you about at the beginning of this post.
Step 5: Wait for the deep-clean process to do its job.
After confirming the deep-clean request, you will only have to wait until the procedure is done, and hope to reach top print quality standards.
Remember your printer will fill the printhead up with ink to unclog them, just as it would when printing a document. You will also need to confirm a test sheet print after the cleaning process is done.
Step #6: Confirming the print quality obtained on the test sheet.
If you have not reached the desired print quality in the first cleaning process, please repeat it until you do. The following picture shows what a good and bad print quality looks like. If you need more information or this procedure does not work out for you, please remember we are here to help you.
This last window will ask you to end or repeat the cleaning process, depending on which of these print qualities you have reached in the first test sheet.
